has anyone seen these??? http://www.solarisled.com/
I mean they are a lot of money and hopefully the mods wont get upset that i posted this, but its technology is not listed on this site. The article says you will not have to replace these bulbs for 10 years and it can emulate the dawn to dusk effect so much better than MH's. Hopefully someone will purchase these and let us know how good they really (I guess someonewho makes ahella lot of money!)

Why in the name of god would anyone pay 2500 dollars for a light? Let's do the math on a 48" system. 2 pendants = maybe 600 dollars now adays. That means that I could buy 38 bulbs which 2 replaced at a time would mean that even at a 9 month life span I could replace uhhhhhh, something like 15 years worth of bulbs, LOL.

It's my understanding on the LED systems you can't replace the lights and eventually have to replace the whole system...seems rather expensive to me.

Depends on how you look at it. I paid $3000 for the lights on my 125 reef. Now i have 4, 55w pc's and 2 400w mh's ...my lights are amazing... something like this would rock for me.... but again ...i like a brighter tank then 250 watt....
Less heat rocks because then i could turn off my chiller..saving me money in electric department :) ...and from there it would also make my living room colder..because my mh's ..keep it HOT ...The room stays 80 degrees in the winter..and its a 800 sq room...
Its impressive... either way... i think you have the be the right person for the lights... but when they come down in price.... it will be the wave of the future... since i already have my lights... I wouldn't buy them....however in 10 years when my lights bust ....and this unit is around $1000 .... I'm on it like a fat kid on a brownie

I would have to buy the 72" and that is running $3300. Looks like like9 years before I can start to really benefit at my current set up. I bet it looks pretty cool. I would like to see this set up in person.

They have a patent on it for awhile so i dont see anyone else producing them in the future... So the price is going to probably stay high, but i wonder if we could build something like it would be a great dyi project...hmmmm

I think that you can get LED lights at the auto part store. Can you use these type of lights to make what PFO is selling? If anyone can, I would think that it would be alot cheaper.
