I have a 36 gallon tank. It has Halogen lighting, live rock, live sand, skimmer, and powerheads. It has been running for a month and I guess the next step is to put some stuff in it. Heres my list of ideas. Out of this list what would work best together? What should I toss idea wise? Or do you have any other ideas that might go best.
I know for sure I want a clown fish and bubble anemone.
I was thinking a Red scooter Blenny
and a blue reef chromis
1 sand sifting cucumber
1 sally lightfoot crab
1 feather duster
2 peppermint shrimp
pink zoo's
and Ricordea Yuma (mushroom coral)
Is this too much in the tank? Just perfect? Or could I add more than this as time goes on.
I would really like to add one more fish as the majority of it seem like bottom dwelling animals.
For the pink zoo and mushrooms should I buy a lot or just let them grow out on their own? Does that take a long time?

I'd strike the cucumber. They are hard to keep alive, especially on a one month old system.
You could probably add a very small fish, like a firefish, clown, etc.
Before we talk about the coral choices, are you sure you mean "halogen" light?

Welcome!
+1 on what kind of lights...Do you mean metal halides? I wouldn't put an anemone in a small tank...they eat fish and in a small tank the fish will have very little room to avoid it. Also an anemone needs a very established tank...like 6 months of age at least. No Cucumber either, they can poison the whole tank...my book says not a good critter for a new person.
A purple Firefish would go good...get 2 clowns..and maybe a Fridmni dottyback or royal gramma. The like to swim around the rocks, my clowns are corner huggers.
Corals:
muchrooms
xenia
Open brain
zoas

I'd be worried about the territoriality of the gramma or the dottyback. It could work though. Size wise they'd be fine.

I think the gramma would be fine. pseudochromis hit or miss and stick with fridmani, sankeyi, indigo (fridmani/sankeyi hybrid), flavivertex since they are the least likely to be small tank terrors.

i think the anemone would be fine whats ur skimmer rated at... They dont always need established tanks... i had one in mine after 2 months.. and it is twice as big now at 3 month mark.... though i have like 4x filtration and i keep up with tank

idk what you mean by rated sorry, I have a Bak Pak 2R Skimmer if that helps though... The guy at the fish store said they are one of the easiest plug and use skimmers and work better than some of the cheaper ones *****/petsmart had. (I was going to buy one from there for 80 dollars to save money but read that was a bad idea)
If anyone knows I was reading something about a protein pre skimmer box should I buy that?
