Hello Beth. Off topic but I also have a decorator crab and removed him into sump. I heard they are very destructive, not reef safe and are predators. Can you verify on this. thanks.

they just frag alot of corals- if you have a big tank its no problem- but if you only have a few- you dont want a crab chopping them all off

Thanks for the info. I'll put him in the tank and keep an eye on him. My snails are faster than him so if I need to I'll scoop him up again.

might also add- when he frags them he wont kill them- they just put the coral on their back and it grows there

The decorator, ugly little crab, can be destructive to a small extent. They basically place live creatues on their backs. Small anemones, polyps, zoos, etc. They do it for camouflage, not to eat, or kill. Now, how these stick on the back so easy, I don't know.
Maybe I'll do a 2 actinic configuration instead of just the 1 I have now. However, I did try that 1x and the tank looked too blue. My options are limited because my lighting fittings is for 46" and there are only 3 type bulbs that come in that size.

awsome- se perches all the time on that red algae i have- he isnt responding to well as far as feeding flakes, brine or formula one- but im not too worried b/ he is always picking at the rock
