Newbie Advice Needed

Hey Everyone I am brand new to this hobby and wanted to get some advice. So far i have a pacific coast dms700 tank, 10lbs of live rock, a 3 striped damsel, blue yellowtail damsel, emerald crab, and 6 hermit crabs. The tank has been up for about 1.5 to 2 months and the nitrates have been around 0ppm for about 2 weeks now. Now I am really at a crossroad with what I want to do. Originally I was thinking of just doing a FOWLR tank at least until I had more experience with nano-tanks but after going to multiple LFS I can't help but want to make a reef tank. All I know for sure is I want to get a clownfish and am not overly attached to the damsels so I can take them back if it will help out my tank. What kind of modifications if any will I need for a reef tank and what recommendations would you guys have for stocking the tank with. Here is a link to the specs of the tank.

Nanos are hard for beginners but not impossible. If you want to go in the reef direction I would get rid of all the Damsels and get a couple of fish to start out with. After you get a feel for the hobby you could start with corals that have an easy care level. Nano tanks can fluctuate very easily, but with time and patience you should do fine.

Thanks for the advice I am making sure to do lots of reading and research before I do anything so hope the nano tank will work out for me. If I get rid of the damsels what kind of fish would you suggest I get. I plan to have a good number of inverts and I know I want at least 1 clownfish. Thanks.

I would look into a Royal Gramma, Pajama Cardinal, Flasher Wrasse, Firefish or another Goby of some sort. Those are nice and small and will not be too big for a Nano. Even a Sixline Wrasse, but some people have issues with them being aggressive. I would keep it at 3 smaller fish max. 1"-2" each.

Thanks for the advice I'll do some reading and decide on what kind of fish i can have.... if I decided to do a reef tank how many fish should i have in the 15 gallon tank. Also what kind of corals can I get with the setup I currently have. Thanks everyone for the help I swear eventually I'll know something about this hobby. I did purchase a book from ---- so that should help with that. Thanks again.

Depends on how much swimming space you are planning on leaving for the fish. 2-3 max, 2 would be ideal but I can understand wanting more than two fish. If you get as addicted to this hobby as the majority of people that start you will end up with a bigger tank in the near future.
