I'm still trying to get over the fact that you actually are capable of using a computer at all.
And I think you should remain in the shallow end of the pool or I will have to make it my top priority to expose you for the 16 year old ass you are. But if you want to play with me please do
but untill then Enlighten me on this statement
To say that she can only afford a 10 gallon tank would be okay, it would just require more maintenance and research.

First of all
No U.
Secondly, she can get a tank as small as 10 gallons and be capable of keeping it. However, it is going to take more frequent maintenance and monitoring than say a 55 gallon tank. For what reasons do you have to disagree?

Ok lets take this thread to a more civilized place. This is your post.
It could. To say that she can only afford a 10 gallon tank would be okay, it would just require more maintenance and research.
Fundamental marine aquarium requirements are written in stone for all size tanks. You state that it will take more maintenance. So lets explore that. A smaller tank will have less substraight to keep clean. It will have less glass or acrylic surface to clean. It will require less water for water changes. It will have less high tech mechanical filtration devises to maintain. It will undoubtedly have less live stock to maintain. I can go on and on but lets hear your reasons to disagree

Maintenance=really bad word, my fault.
Monitoring was more of what I was going for. Sorry.
But I do think it would require more research, or more in depth research rather. There is a lot more room for error. Imo, people with small tanks should test more often as well.

ok guy i think u all will agree with me when i say. it does not matter what size of tank u get. it is the maintence that is required that u have to look at. a too small of a tank will requirer more than u think becasue u have to ck the water and the chemistry of the tank which can change very fast with smaller tanks. with larger tank the maintence will also require alot fo time becasue of the size and the time u will take to clean it but the water chemistry wont change as fast becasue of the higher volume. so as a fisrt timer i would recomend that u try to go with somthing in the medium range about 35 - 65gal when the maintence will be alitttle balance between the chemestry and the cleaning. once u get the hang of this and u understand alittle more about how saltwater works thats when i would say BIGGER IS BETTER. but for now just take it slow and enjoy your introduction to this new hobby

I prefer small tanks because a little knowledge goes a long way and truly small tanks are not hard to keep. Plus I'm 16 so money is tight if existent. This way I can fully stock a tank instead of looking at a big empty glass box all day.

I agree that smaller tanks need more monitoring

I believe what you mean is there is a lot less margin for error in smaller tanks. Am I correct?

margin would be a better word to use.
