Newbie Question

Sorry for the newbie question, but I have a 50 gal tank and want to raise some xenia and button polyps. (moving up in the fish world) What kind of light would be best and economical? I was looking at a power compact 120W... is that enough? Those run for about $130 from what i saw..
Any advice?

That would be plenty of light for those two corals as they are both low light requiring

Minimum for even the low light corals is 3w per gallon. I would look at a 4x65 watt pc fixture. This would allow you to upgrade to some more light intensive corals in the future.

I have a 50g, and only raise softies as well. I have 4x65w PCs on there. Ran me about $170

Check the dredded auction site. I just picked up a 192 watt PC fixture w/ 3 moon lights for 99 bucks plus shipping. Im sure you could find similar deals on larger lights
