newbie question

Hi,
I have been in the fw hobby for the past few years and now I want to dive into sw. I have read a few books and I think I am all most ready, but I was wanting to know a few things.
1. What is your fav. fish?
2. What was the first size sw tank you had and what would you wish you started off with?
3. Do you think sw is harder then fw?
4. What is the one thing that you did wrong that you want to pass on the wisdom to other newbies?
5. What was the worst fish you ever put in your tank?
I think that's all the questions for now but any help would be great.
Thanks,
Jazzey. :D

to answer your questions:
1. Fav. Fish?---Clarkii Clownfish
2. First size tank?--75 gallon, and I still think that is a good start off tank.
3. SW harder than FW?--yes and no, once you realize the differences btwn the two its not too bad. But then again I always get something new in the SW tank to deal with or figure out, but its fun and addicting.
4. One thing I wish to pass on?---ummm, I'll give ya a couple words of wisdom: Patience no matter what, quarentine (sp)always (get an extra tank), have an idea of what you want to house (ie. aggressive vs. mellow), and last of all---this website! Everyone will give their opinions and you go from there, just ask first and then make your opinion from there.
5. Worst fish?--no answer, again depends on your setup and what you add.
Ask away with your questions, you are off to a good start being a memeber here and oh by the way WELCOME to the boarad!! ;)

"1. What is your fav. fish?"
Banggai Cardinal
"2. What was the first size sw tank you had and what would you wish you started off with?"
It was a 55 gallon Stainless Steel Frame with a slate bottom. 55 is a good tank to start with.
"3. Do you think sw is harder then fw?"
Absolutely.
"4. What is the one thing that you did wrong that you want to pass on the wisdom to other newbies?"
There's quite a list.... #1 - Patience. Buy it right the first time. Patience. Research before buying. Patience.
"5. What was the worst fish you ever put in your tank?"
I like them all.

1. My fav. fish is the false percula clownfish.
2. My first tank size was a 40g. 2 months later I switched to an 84 gallon, better size to start with than the 40, then 5 months later I switch to a 26 gallon with just two false percula clowns and that has been my best setup yet.
3. And yes I think SW is harder than FW but not as hard if you know what you are doing.
4. The one thing I did wrong was stock my 84g way to fast with too many fish at once witch caused my tank to have an ammonia spike.

fav fish, all of them
first tank was a 40
harder, HECK NO, i think it is easier ownce you realize what you are doing, and if done properly, the system does most of the work for you(all i do is water changes and feed, hardly nay cleaning except for teh salt creep)
wisdm, PATIENCE, LOTS FO PATIENCE
(q- tank is a great idea too)
no such thing as a bad or worse fish, IMO, just fish not suited well for that particular tank, but there are many that should nto be kept in home aquariums b/c of poor survival rates or being endangered, JMHO

Jazzey let me start out by saying welcome th the board.
ok
1 fav fish is yellow tang
2 my first tank is the one I currently have which is a 90
3 I think it's a little harder and a lot more $$$$$$$EXPENSIVE$$$$$$$$$$$
4 I would sat don't rush into purchasing equipment without knowing what you want. And don't always trust you LFS (local fish store) you have to remember they make money when you spend money. Look for a good one and that will help you out a lot. Good Luck
