newbie questions...converting 55 gal

I am going to convert my 55 gal fw to sw in the next couple days. I am going to have a dsb and live rock. It is going to be a fowlr. Just a couple of quick questions.
1. Do I add water than sand or sand than water?
2. Do I add the ls now or wait until it is cycled?
3. Do I add lr now or wait until it is cycled?
4. I have about 20 lbs of "dead" rock now. How much lr should I add to it and how long before it turns "live"?
5. Finally, any suggestions on stocking? I want a peaceful tank with inverts.
I'm sorry if I am asking questions with simple answers. I just want ot do things the "right" way.

I don't mean to but in, but why not mention tang and 55 gal?

Most tangs need a 75 or larger. They need alot of swimming space.

Don't add all the above mentioned fish till you're sure it's done cycling. It's tough to be patient.

Thanks for all the help guys. How much lr do you think I should get to seed my "dead" rock?
Also, are there any dwarf angels or other more colorful fish that I would be able to put in my tank?
