Same here I had it on yesterday and my nitrates were over 80 when I added the new filter and tested today it went down to 40ppm

Yes the bio wheel is bad newz for some and good for others but imo for all people who will take my advise dont dont go and get a bio wheel filter for your tank imo you asking for trouble

It is so simple, ditch the aquaclear and bio wheel. Get one of those HOB Fuges w/ Protein Skimmer
