Newbie questions

Hi all ! Well as the title says I am new to puffers and need all the
info I can get, unfortunately in a short amount of time. I recently
rescued 3 puffers (porcupine, dog-faced, masked) from a resteraunt,
going out of business,that was going to release them...in a lake??
(MORONS) Well enough ranting, I have a 92g corner that I purchased
and setup about 3 weeks ago that has cycled and is about ready but I
wanted to get as much info as I could to provide the best possible
home for these guys. All 3 are under 6 inches in length and are being
temp. housed at the moment. So some things I could use are best
temperature, food sources, compatibility, acclimation, lighting
requirements anything that may be of help. I have had several mini-
reef setups so Im fairly familiar with those but unfortunately not a
big fish guy, but I couldnt see these special "kids" sentenced to
freshwater fishicide. Thanks in advance for being here

Cool, good for you to step in and help those guys out rather than a painful certain death (released in a lake!!!!!!)
The only thing I would tell you is to be careful how you arrange the rockscape in your tank. A 90 corner tank is beautiful, but most of them are set up to be shallow reef tanks. This usually means a lot of lr, for a mandarin or a reef only tank, it's perfect, but for something that gets larger like puffers, it's going to get cramped.
Spread your rock out and give them some room to swim, and start planning on a larger tank, they can and will get big.
You should enjoy them, puffers are among the smartest fish with the brightest personalities!

Great for you, those 3 puffer were all but dead. Now it is time to think about the future. There is no way all three will have enough room in that size tank, sorry to say. When puffer get older they need there own space and alot of it. They will do fine for some time as long as no fighting. What this all means is you will have to get a much bigger tank, or find one or two a new home. it is the best thing for the puffers. Good Luck

I have had puffers in the past and I have to say the porcupine puffer was my favorite. You can feed them pretty much anything. They live fresh squide choped up, shrinp pieces, fresh fish meat. I always bought my fish food at the super market. I would wash it very well and cup it into small to medium pieces and then freez it in zip lock bags in daily doeces. it is a lot cheaper then buying the same thing from fish stores and the fish like it better. I would also as the food unthawed soak my food in vitamens so the fish are getting all that they need.
As for temp I kept my tank about 78 to 80 degrees. Have fun with these fish and thank you for saving them from so a@@ that was going to kill them. Hope this helps.
