Newbie to Seahorses

I've been thinking very hard and doing my reasearch and I am going to choose between a barb seahorse pair or converting the 2g into a sump and using a 2g tank for a home for a pair or two of H zostaeri. Any thoughts on which one would be best?

I also have a 10g tank that I can use for the H zostaeri if that would be better.

I have no experience with dwarfs, (H. zosterae) but the person whose brains you need to pick for this species is the lovely miss Rykna.
