I think the best size for a beginner is a 75...but then when your more advanced, you could have a half gallon nano to a tank that you build your house around.
Hah, when I start building my house, I have a plan to build it around a 750g 10ftx4ftx30"high acrylic tank, SPS dominated. That is, though, only if I start making the dough after I get my doctorate. gonna be awhile. I've had multiple tanks before in the past, and I'm to that point where I enjoy making only one system perfect and as complex as possible.
Oh, by the way, sorry for the thread hijack, didn't mean to do that. haha.

I started with a 55g....not big enough and got a 75g....still not big enough so I got a 90g. I'm very happy with it, it is still 48" just like the 55g and 75g but deeper. I don't think I could handle a larger tank on my own. The 30g long is a very nice little tank, it looks good and it's very easy to reach everything, but I would never try smaller.

A 90 is a very nice tank size.... you are right... but a 75 is not bad, either.
