I just got a 55 gallon and have put 6 damsels in. I am wanting to get a trigger (Huma & Niger) but the wife wants to get some type of crabs or coral too. Also can you put a Tang with a trigger and damsels?

u hav to be careful of triggers with damsels because they could eat them but if the damsels are aggressive they should be ok i had a yellow tang with a clown trigger and a humhum with no problems except the tang thought he was a trigger :D

I could really care less if the trigger actually ate the damsels but if they can stay alive then they add niely to the tank. Is a 55 big enough for a trigger and a tang?

hey petekc.. it doesnt go over to well when you say you dont care if a trigger eats a fish.. thats kinda a no no.. :(

yeah i got flames for it too , they wanted to get me off the site so try to watch what you say but yeah a 55 would be ok for a trigger and tang but you should think about getting something bigger later on :D

It depends on the size of the fish.If they were all pretty small fish then they would be fine for a while in a 55.But a 55 is way to small for two full grown triggers much less a tang to.And once the triggers are mature that huma will harass the niger.I would look into upgrading in the near future if you want to keep all three together.

a 55 is too small for any grown trigger. the niger probably wont eat the damsels anyway. but if he does it is easier than catching them. i feed my triggers damsels once in a while. its better than feeding fw feeders.
