Hi all,
new to your forums.
I'm planing on doing a new reef tank. I've never done marine before although ive had freshwater for years.
I want to start this new tank off right so I'm asking for any help or tips you might want to offer a noob.
My problem is as soon as i start thinking tank size... filtration and everything else overwhelm the issue :hilarious . So many choices and i dont want to waste a lot of money and time on stuff i dont need.
What i want is a bowfront tank appx 55-75 gal with some beautiful live rock/coral and some animals to call it home. Cost is always a concern of course but i dont want to skimp to the point where my tank suffers.
Thanks in advance

HI welcome to SWF hobby. I not an expert only been in the hobby for 8 months now and enjoy it very much!!:D one thing I can offer is find a reef club in your area....I have saved so much on corals..and .learned a great deal too! you prob. could find a nice tank too! people are allways moving, upgrading etc. I would start there.

Well a 72 gallon bowfront would look nice. That is what Beth has I believe and she has a very beautiful tank.
The essential things for your tank are a few powerheads, a good quality skimmer, around 75-90 lbs. of live rock, high quality power compact or VHO lights, a 350 watt heater, and some sort of filtration (a sump would work if you get a reef ready tank).
If you have any questions, please post them so we can all help you.
