these are fish i would like 2 have in my 20 gal, sebae clown fish, anemone, clam, emerald crab, chocolate star fish. Would these make good tank mates or could u recommend some fish 4 a newbie. Ps i have about 3or4 weeks till done cycling.

Okay got a few questions for you, wut type of clam, wut type of anemone, and wut type of lighting do you have on that tank? as well as how many watts is it? After you answer this I'll be able to help you out.

we still don't know what kind of lights they are, maybe give us the brand and if you know what kind of lighting it is, metal halides,pcs etc

well if it came with the tank, you won't be able to keep anemones. I think those clams don't require any light so those will be fine, the cleaner clam anyways.

also chocolate starfish may be a bad choice for a tank that small, won't have enough natural food to graze on, and not alot of room either.

So heres what I would recommend, a pair of clownfish, the clam, the snails and crabs, and then one or two other small fish. Like a yellow watchman goby and a firefish, something like that.

although anemones are awesome, I don't think you would be willing to spend $300+ for a $50 anemone. If you were, you would need really high wattage and metal halides, and then you must as well just have a reef tank.

and the chocolate star fish 2. what about a chiller i heard i might need that. i also have a 100 gal fresh tank i might change 2 salt once i learn everything.

i would stay away from the anenome as stated above, and the clam. they both require fully mature tanks with pristine water quality. and the thing about keeping a puffer is that they eat anything. so if you want a puffer, you cant have inverts caust theyll eat them. trust me i learned the hard way. i had a very beautiful hawaiian blue spotted puffer and it began to nip at my cleaner shrimp. another issue is the tank size. puffers can get big, a small tank would stress them out. a chiller is very expensive $300-600. for my tank, if the temp gets too high, like in these summer months, i run a fan across the top. it really helps.
some good begenner fish are Cardinals, Firefish, Gobies, damsels, and clowns.

CC starfish do not graze on anything they are carnivores and you should spot feed them carnivorous food. IMO you could keep a cc starfish in there. Don't even think about a reef or especially clams or anemones until you really really know what you are doing. Also you will not need a chiller
