Im thinking about getting another clown. I have a Maroon. Although I know it might not be a good idea to pair any other clown with a maroon... has anyone had any luck? What kind? pics if possible.

Well I wouldn't want to if it would be trouble but has anyone here ever had luck mixing a maroon with any other clowns?

I doubt anyone has and succeded . Maroons a very mean toward it`s own species unless paired up when young . They are even meaner towards other species and the other species will be killed by the maroon .

I have!! When I first found B&W's at my LFS I got three, then I was given 2 good size false perc's. They at first stayed at different ends of the tank and once my big B&W chased one of the others and it jumped out of the tank during dinner so I was able to get him right back in. Anyway, they were all fine together for a good 2 years, they even all swam as a group.I lost them all when tragedy struck my tank
...still don't know what happened.

Right now I have a B&W and A GSM together and have been for many months with no problems.
I'm a rule breaker, I know.....sorry

I sorry, i really feel for ya. But on a lighter note that is awesome to here about the Maroon and BW. I think I may try it.

Yeah it was so sad
I had them for about 3 years and they were all so cool. They would swim into my hand and completely trusted me. I only had one lil problem, I got an annenome and they would push each other out but never hurt each other.
I think you should be ok as long as u have enough room for them. I have a 75gal. My maroon came after my B&W and was young when I got him if that helps! Good luck!!!

That was my two concerns, my maroon has been in the tank for two years and I only have 1 BTA. I may try it tho because my LFS is really cool about that kind of thing, if things aren't getting along In the first week r so I can take it back so...

15 minutes in and the maroon left the bta right away to check it out. No nibbling or even bumping. Now they are on opposite sides of the tank. No problems so far :)

I am very interested in how this turns out. I have had a very small Maroon (app. 1") for a week and just love the B&W, it was a tuff decision that i may not have had to make!

Another thing I did was rearrqange my rock work per the owner of my lfs. This way if your maroon was territorial, he would have to find a new place and less apt to defend its territory

Thanks! I'm now on hour 14 and still no trouble... Actually its working out better than I expected. No other fish in the tank is aloud to get this close to my maroons BTA. Its weird how nice the maroon it being to this little guy.

BTA is behind the rock, hard to see with the pic

Man that fish is beautiful!!! I want one!!
My maroon is a bit smaller than yours. I am glad ur fish is being nice to the newbie!! Congrats
