i've just used the link to the left and looked at the clowns there. there is someone posting in the aggressive forum about a clown that is meaner than a lion fish, but i believe all clowns are semi aggressive towards other fish that look like them, and you have restrictions about how many tpes of clowns you can have in one tank.

Clowns generally aren't very territorial, but I have noticed tomatoes to be the most agressive of the ones I've had. I would not recomend mixing clowns under any circumstances. They will fight eventually.

sorry to do this but i have to dissagree with the above post clowns are highly territorial species and can be very agressive towards invaders of there domane.some can be more aggressive than other species as like any damsel(yes clowns are of the damsel family) now I have heard good and bad about almost all species of clowns I personally keep GSM i have had up to 3 in one anenome at the same time and they have the baddest rep of being highly aggressive to any invaders including the hand that feeds them. in my experiences I found that to be completly contrary to all i have read.my maroons dont care about my hands being near them or other fish in the same tank ,after i lost 2 maroons 1st unknown cause 2 lost to lion fish.my last survivor will often share his dwellings or nearby at least with chromis and my cardenals.other fish dont bother going near at all..its hard to see in this smaller pic but if you look closely you will see all 3 of the clowns in the same anenome each placed in the tank at different times

I will have to agree with him. I have a GSM that I have had for about 7 months. He was raised pretty much by himself in a 55 gal. After I recently got interested in learning more about my tank, i decided that he needed some companions.
My first mistake is that I was ignorant of what I had. My second mistake was I didn't care that I was ignorant. So as a ignorant person might do, my wife and I picked our fish based on "that one is pretty". Well that isn't totally true! I did follow guildlines of easy care, hardy, and fairly non-aggressive fish. Well my pick of three various damsels, a bi-color blenney and a percula clown fish was fairly good. Alll of these fish have been great purchases (lucky me), except for the perc clown. My veteran GSM has no problem with most of my fish, but "he" is very aggressive to the perc. The first 4 days, the gsm would not allow the perc (p) down from a top corner. A week and half later, the p is allowed around the bottom of the same side, but is occasional harrassed or pecked at. I'm not sure of what the outcome will be, but for now I don't have no plans to trade or sell him. I hold hope that things will work out.
My point is that, had I taken time to read up on my GSM, I would have found out that this fish can be territorial to other clowns. Be sure to do your background work. Make sure your teaming fish that are good bed-fellows.
