Nice Idea For Tanks With Two Tangs

heres a good idea for a tank with two tangs and small damsels
buy a piece of plexi glass cut it to fit your tank as a tank divider.. drill alot of holes about 1 inch for the smaller fishes to get through but the wall is anti tang... good idea aye? dont waste throwing away a tang or selling it for a quarter of the price...

i believe if you put a divider will be worst because your tangs will have less room to swim....as i headr they need a lot of swimming room.......

this maybe for a big tank or a small tank with any kind of fish that dont match... you can drill about 50 holes a a 1 1/2 inch tang wont fight through a 1 inch hole

If the fish are incompatable...the stress of just seeing each other will take it's toll on them.Plus,I still say it would compromise your flow...no matter how many holes there are.JMO

Personally I'd just limit my livestock to manage problems and avoid a room divider of any sort....

Even if the tangs are seperated they'd still stress each other.....flow would be restricted....and I don't think it'd look all that great in my opinion.

The easiest way to not throw away a tang or risk getting a quarter of the price for it is not to buy it in the first place if you do not have a proper system for it. This saves the most money overall, and may be best for the fish as well.
Problem solved.
And I agree, just seeing it can cause stress...for some fish seeing their reflection can cause stress.

IME, tangs dont bother damsels ( unless its a problematic Devil D. ) to the point that would require a divider. But ofcouse every fish can be unique. Two tangs may have a problem with each other in many cases but the divider doesnt help there because you are reduceing swimming space and thats probly worse thing. Dividers sometimes can serve a porpuse on a temperarly basis in some kind of special case I quess, but a permanent divider is just unsightly and requires cleaning, ect. IMO, its just best to plan and research your community ahead of time.

tangs and damsels are both coral safe. most tangs wouldn't bother damsels unless the damsels did something to piss the tang off.

The divider will restrict water flow. The divider will probably also grow algae that will start to clog the holes further restricting water flow.
Overall just a bad idea I'm afraid.

9 people agreeing that you have a bad idea, and WE are the know it alls? sounds like you've got to be right.......................go ahead and do your wall that will restrict flow to separate fish that get along together to begin with. and like somebody else said, the wall will grow algae, so you're basically going to have a big green wall in the middle of the tank. you're right, great idea.

Lol, far from it... we're all learning.
so, ummm, now might not be the best time to mention this, but damsels don't stay small for very long...
