Anyone been to one of the concerts? What did you think? We have tickets for the end of January and just wondering if they put on a good show.

I have seen them 3 times...every show was good...the only thing I didnt like was at the first show they played "How you remind me" 3 times as an encore...the first time they played it acoustical, then they played it acoustical and let the audience sing it, then they played the original version...that was lame IMO...but the rest of the shows are pretty darn good!!!

Glad to hear they were atleast worth going to see. My hubby is excited as heck and man, if I get to have a night out without kids, I am ready.
OK, Darth Tang, fess up, how did you see them 3 times for free???

I saw them twice for free...I managed a store for a major grocery chain, and the vendors would gift us (bribe
) things to get their business...One of the vendors had VIP tix to a local venue...In one year I saw over 100 shows

When I lived in Minnesota I used to have pretty good connections in the music/entertainment industry in Minneapolis. I saw a lot of concerts free. I saw Nickelback the 3 times after their 1st album came out and they weren't that big yet. All three times were at a small venue called the Quest which is (or was) owned by Prince. I sometimes miss the VIP treatment but I am getting to old and have to many responsibilities now to party with that crowd anymore.

OK, I am officially jealous. Its not like the man and I are big concert goers, but dang if we could get free tickets.....well, we'd see a heck of alot more shows. I can't believe that we only paid $20/ea to see Metallica when they were good and now we paid $50/ea to see Nickelback and they're pretty new to the scene.
Oh well, we did pay $100/ea to see Garth Brooks. :joy:

the first Metallica show I went to I paid $18.50 that was in '87, the second $21.50 in '89, the third in '94 was $35.00, in 2003 when they came through here I paid...ehhh hum...$78.00 per ticket!!! oh well it was woth it, I also saw U2 for free this year
(in SLC)...won tix on a local radio station, I also paid for a ticket this year to see U2 it $85.00 for NOSE BLEEDS!!! 2nd from the top row in Key Arena (Seattle)
I cant complain about the $85.00 on that auction site there were tix for over $500.00...

Really, I guess you could say I'm not a real hard-core fan but don't tell my man or he'll make me start doing research or something so I am "educated" before attending the concert. If only he knew that when he took me to Metallica for our first date, I didn't know a one of their songs. Boy was that a long concert and they had no opening band. 4 hours straight of Metallica, great for him, bad for me.

Wow, ruaround, sounds like you may be as hard-core about Metallica as my little man. I think the only time we saw them was in '92
Not sure though, since I wasn't that into them then. Have since refined my tastes or otherwise my man and I would've never been able to ride in a car together. It is pretty funny to look at his IPod library with his mix of mine and his songs. Anything from Alan Jackson to Pantera to Shania Twain to Nickelback to Faith Hill to Metallica to Kenny Chesney (you get the picture). :joy:

my MP3 collection is pretty eclectic as well from death metal to classical to alternative to country to classic rock to adult contemporary, but im mostly into heavy alternative (i.e. atreyu, soil work, mudvayne, avenged sevenfold, TOOL, etc. etc.)... I used to be a huge Metallica fan, but I was not impressed with St. Anger at all...
