Niger Triggerfish compatability

I recently have redone my saltwater tank. All 4 of my fish died because of lack of maintance so I cleaned my tank and now that everything is ok I decided to go with more agreesive fish. I got a niger trigger and the guy at the fish sotre told me that the sebae clownfish would get along with him. It has only been a week and the sebae has died already. The water is fine, except for the nitrates being a little high. I saw a few bite marks on the clown fishs fin. I think the triger stressed him out. Now I only have the one triger. What kind of fish would stand up to the triger?

I have a 5 inch niger trigger in my tank, and I should of added him last to my tank. he is the meanest guy I have in the tank. i am scared of putting any new fish in the tank because I am worried that he will destroy it. What I have been doing is putting the trigger in my QT while the new fish is in the main aquarium. I do this to make sure that he isn't getting picked on, and hopefully the trigger will calm down.

What size fish tank do you have? Then I can give you better advice what fish to put in.

Your Niger will outgrow this tank and also, this particular fish gets more agressive when it feels crowded. I think you'll be better off if you take back the Niger and get other fish more appropriate for a 60gal tank.

They do not take back fish at the store I bought him at. Is there anything i can put in with him. Maybe a puffer or tang?

At 5" it's already very big for your tank and with triggers, the bigger they get, the more agressive they get. Puffers also get too big for your tank and tangs need lots of space to swim. Maybe you can sell the Niger to someone locally?
As a last resort, you can maybe get a humu picasso trigger. It'll grow very slow and it won't be bullied by the niger.
