I just use a N.O. flourescent blue actinic bulb at night. It's cheaper and you see just a lot going on in the tank.
I just took two 40w blue party bulbs (one on each end of tank-6ft) and put on timer so it comes on when main lights go out. Do not know if this is correct but cheap(get everything at lowes) and allowes me to watch tank at night.
