nitirite levels high help

please help we have had this take for about 2 months and can not get the nitirate levels to fall eveything else is fine . fish not looking good :help: :help:

what are your nitrates at? and what type of filtration do you have? how much LR what size tank, what fish do you have. how long did you cycle your tank?

do you have any macro algae?

I'm no expert but I don't think high nitrates alone make fish sick very quickly. My nitrates have been high for months too but all the fish are still fine.
What does macro algae look like?

there are all different types of macro algae. It works the same way hair algae does. it eats up nitrates. the thing is though, you can add a lot of this at a time just from buying it at your LFS to keep your nitrates low or even at 0.
