nitrate level question

I have a 58 gallon reef tank with some soft corals and 6 small fish
what should my nitrate level be at

As low as possible, I keep mine at 10 or less through water changes and an aquaripure dentirator.

I believe the general guideline is below 10 for corals and below 40 for the fish.

I don't know what's going on with my tank, but my nitrates are at 80 and everything is living. I just introduced a new colony of zoo's and i have green star polyps and puple mushrooms growing. I don't know why, my fish and corals are all doing well. I've even test the LFS water to see if it was my test, but they all come in at 10-20....don't know.

mushrooms,star polyps, and zoos all seem to do betteer in dirtier tanks.
