nitrate????

i use dipsticks 4 a quick check.. all is well... except! my nitrate is at 80.. everything is growing great! nothin' dying! whats going on? are my dipsticks no good?

Try another test that is very high. If another test reveals the same thing then you are probably feeding to much or using tap water.

1st, many here don't like dipsticks, they aren't most accurate, or reliable, and if you shake at all, even the littles bit, you affect them
2d, is it fo, fowlr, reef, or what,a nd waht is in there, and how old is your tank?
i fyou are cycling, it is normal, if it is fo, then you probably are ok, our 40 fo was higher than that for a while, and never got much lower than that

tks! i'll try the good test kit.. it's been like that for 1 month.. i have a 150 gal. 4 about 2 years..

2 years, well then it is more than likely done cycling(last month at the latest)LOL
if it is fish only, they should be fine, unless you have some delicate species in there, other than that, water changes dude
what kind of substrate and filter system do you have?
i'd still try the othere kit, especially if this is a new problem 4 ya

nitrite is 0..
nitrate is 10...
NO MORE DIPSTICKS!!!
