Nitrates to high

When people say "your nitrates are too high" when your nitrates are at 20 how is the nitrates high?? I have fowlr system and nitrates never bother my fish and my nitrates stay at about 20-25.

Fish aren't as sensitive to nitrates as corals. The "safe" range is probably up to 50 with fish only. The "safe" range with corals is probably 20, but as close to 0 as possible is ideal.

Just keep in mind that nitrates cause microalgae blooms.

question:
i had a little rise in my tank levels for the last few days
i my ammonia was like1.5, nitrite was 0.3 and nitrite was 12.5 now today they are all zero what does this mean?
