Nitrates

you can do frequent, regular small water changes, or add some cheato to your sump if you have one. a little bit of nitrate isnt too bad, and its hard to get rid of it 100%.

I have cleaner clams but they don't do enough to noticeably lower nitrates. along with the cheato I have it may hold the nitrates at bay.

water changes are definitley the best way to lower your trates. That being said, If mine were only 12 I would be happy....Mine stay around 40 usually. We will see if a new skimmer helps or not soon.

dont' do it..
a little bit of nitrate won't kill nothing....
we strive for zilch, but until your live rock and sand take a stand, don't interfere..
stand back, watch, and keep calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium in check.
