Nitrates

I have 150 lbs. in my 125 and I think thats a bit on the low end. You really need a lot more rock to provide proper hiding places for thise fish you have. You should do a seperate refugium for the chaeto, they make hang on refugiums for this sort of thing. You could also consider a better protein skimmer or a remote deep sand bed. If possible get a much bigger sump and stuff it with live rock and chaeto. Eventually you're probably going to have to get rid of some of those fish as a 125 can't support that many of those types full grown.

"Prime", thanks for your response. How would we accomplish a hanging refugium? Would it hang in the DT or the sump?
As you know we have very limited room in our sump. Can we set up a 10 gallon refugium for the chaeto, and how do we connect with the sump to circulate the water back and forth? It seems like there must be an easier solution to our problem? Our nitrates have been on the high side for awhile, the fish must be somewhat accustomed to it.
By the way, I went to Marquette....ever hear of it?

I can't post links, but if you just search google for hang on refugium you'll get plenty of info. You can hang it on your dt or sump. It'll probly siphon overflow into the fuge and a small pump will return water to the tank. Keep it hidden below the tank if you can cause IMO its an eyesore. Of course I know the Warriors and like any true Milwaukeean I refuse to acknowledge them as any other name. :)

you could run a phosban with your nitrate reducing media in it, and it would get better saturation. other than that, the refugium you could hang onto the sump, would be easier and better looking
