Hey guys got a bit of a situation ok so over the weekend like saturday I added idk 10 to 15 lbs of live rock now just before this like that same day I checked my levels andd everything was where it should be ammonia 0 nitrites 0 ph 8.2 nitrates like at 5 well today I checked and everything was raised except ph which declined a bit maybe to 8.0 I havent done anything different besides addin rock could it be from that

It is from dying organisms on the live rock.

Ammonia is the most important. What did it go to? If it's above 0.5ppm I would suggest a large water change.

Nitrite is harmless at most reasonable levels but Ammonia is highly toxic.

My ammonia is at .25 I just did a 25% water change that reading is before the water change im test it again in about 30 min my nitrites were at .50 it worried me a little bit ciuz I have never seen them leave 0

The Ammonia level is probably making the more delicate animals uncomfortable but it's not deadly with a low PH of 8.0. Ironically, the lower PH makes Ammonia less toxic.

Nitrites are harmless even at 50 times your levels so don't worry there. Nitrite above zero does mean that your biological filtration is under stress though. I wuld guess that everything will be back to normal in a couple/few days.

Ok thanks and I mean well anytime I test pretty much at the end of each week or before I add something new ive never seen my nitrites leave 0 well as far as my kit reads or my ammonia it always says 0 when I test it and this time everything was up so it worried me but that is probably why my bubble tip has been lookin a little under the weather thanks for all the info tho its good to know that
