For starters....time/patience/knowledge.....*_^
Seriously.....provide info on your system. Tell us about your display size/filtration/length of time its been cycled(or is it cycling)/lighting/circulation/fish/corals.......
the more info provided the easier this would be to answer. In general I'd suggest additives to establish calcium and alkalinity....combined with kalkwasser to help maintain them. Plus regular small water changes to replenish trace elements. That pretty much covers the basics.

i have a reef with 2 55 powercompacts running. everything tests zero and i hope it stays that way. Tank been going for 3 months now. I took it very slow by only raising ricordia mushrooms for the first 2 months while adding seachem products because i was trying to follow garf.org way of doing it. I would just like to know what you dose because your tank is really nice

I appreciate the compliment......
To answer your question I use a combination of seachem products and kalkwasser. I've tried to develope a system/method that works and is easy to maintain.
Daily I dose approximately 1 gal of seachem advantage for calcium(1 tablespoon per gal)...alternating with seachems reef builder. Nightly I slow drip approx 1 gal of pre-mixed and settleed kalkwasser(about 1/2 teaspoon per gal). Other than that the only other additives are maybe once a week I'll add 1 gal of seachem reef buffer(normally on Sunday evening at the same mix as the advantage/builder)...and on Sundays I normall add a few millileter of seachem reef plus & complete. Plus a 5%-10% water change every month or so.
Thats it...works for my system:
calcium-400-450 ppm
alkalinity-2.8-3.5 meg/l
ammonia/nitrite/nitrate-zero
phosphates-zero
ph-8.1-8.3
salinity-1.025
temp-78-84 daily
all the above has been stable at those levels for about 15 months.

"nm reef" After seeing your setup I have since decided to get a set of VHO actintics. Our setups are similiar. I have a 55 gallon with 2x55watt pcs and 2x96watt pcs. I originally wanted to get MH but after seeing how great your tank looks I am gonna scrape the MHs and save some money. can you send me pictures or POST diagram of your lights. I am curious as to how you have the bulbs positioned not mention how you got them all to fit. Thank you sir.
