no more feather duster

last night i purchesd a hawaiin feather duster..i found it a good home in the rock work..and i woke up this morning and found the whole worm underneath my brittle star. on the other side of the tank..this is the second time this has happend...is there a reason why this happens..?:(

i let the bag float for about 45 min..then i let some of my tank water in and let it sit for about 10 more min and then put him in..do you think the acclimation would be the cause of this?

Could be. If it suffered from osmotic shock then it would probably crawl out of its tube & die. From there the Star would be cleaning up the corpse.
This is just conjecture of course.
