No more wrasses :(

Well my last blue sided wrasse flew the coop....literally

No more for me.....not until I take the eggcrate off and encase it in netting.....IF I DO THAT.....I will rethink owning another wrasse..IF NOT, I will not be owning another fish that jumps

completely solid tops are key. I would get some form fitting glass or acrylic tops, depending on your tank. I had a dragon wrasse jump out a quarter size hole in one of my tops. Best most colorful wrasse for the price, in my opinion is the clown fairy or solar fairy wrasse. they don't seem to be jumpers either.

Last thing I want is solid tops.....I need open so heat escapes and I have good oxygen exchange....I have metal halides and if I had a closed in system the tank would get HOT......I'm probably just gonna stay away from jumpers for now on

Netting in a custom screen frame works wonders. Have you also ever considered a hood for your tank? A few fans built into the hood and I doubt you'll need to worry about heat.

NAH no hood.....and one day if I ever decide to net a lid...I will reconsider the wrasses.....my tank is good right now, so I really don't need to mess with the stock know what I mean

it is real easy meowzer! Ive made several! Ur hubby im sure would do it for u!

[hr]

U just need framing for like a screen door and the rest of the supplies are right their too! I used bird net....
Sry to hear that bout ur jumper....ive had no lid on my 20 for like a month now and the firefish and darts havent jumped yet! I think the one that did awhile ago told everyone else not to do it...he was barely alive when i found him, rinsed him under the sink, and threw him back in! LOL
SRY!!!!!!

I've seen anywhere from $150 to $400 per 1/4"-1/2" single eye frag. Keep in mind those are "true" flamethrowers. I've seen some junk ones, pretty much standard red chalices being past off as flamethrowers for as little as $50 a colony.
Depends on the quality of coral you have.
