Noise!

After doing a water change. I plugged everything back in my sump. Now my skimmer is making a noise ummm like an screeching owl in a rock tumbler.
When I out my hand over the air intake pipe. It stops, anyone else have this problem? How do i stop it?

just needs a little adjustment air is hi or flow is low,

Any possibility that something got into the skimmer intake and is interferring with the impeller? My skimmer has made some noise, but never anything like you describe-it sounds "mechanical" as opposed to an air or water noise resulting from an out of adjustment air beleed valve.
