noisy powerhead

i put a mj 1200 witha sure flow mod on it and its noisy as heck. it sounds like a vibrating air pump and sometimes runs backwards on the wave maker and make a horrible noise when it starts up. for now ive let it run overnight without the wavemaker to see if the magnet would break in. it didnt make these noises with the mj 400s... please help wifes getting mad with the noise..

I had the same problem with my ecomods. I jammed a tiny piece of foam rubber between the rubber tip of the impeller where it goes into the shroud housing to keep it from rotating. I also had to do this to the shroud where it attatched to the powerhead. any sloppy fitting parts could cause noise.

I dont think u should have it on a wavemaker. mine dose the same thing but only wheb it starts
