Not Skimming as much?

My reef is not skimming as much as it was in the begining, I feed heavy, and have lots of fish too, I added more rock and sand with in the last few months, could this be why? anyone else see a decrease in their tank?

Mine started off needing to be emptied and cleaned about every 7-10 days...after a few months the amount of skimmate decreased and currently I empty it about every two weeks. Now and then it'll increase but I believe thats dependant on fluctuations within the reef.

I've seen that too. But I've also seen my skimmate amounts decrease significantly when I needed to do a good cleaning of my skimmer.

Dosing with limewater always seems to help my skimmer pull out more crud....
