i don't have that fixture so i can't really help. but i do know that the wattage of moon lights is vary low. normal one watt per bulb so you won't need a plug head that is vary strong at all.

I have a 3 foot 6 bulb nova extreme pro and it doesnt have moonlights. It has 2 actinics for dawn/dusk and then 3 10k's & 1 actinic off the other plug. I do 1.5 hr dawn then all 6 bulbs for 7 hrs then 1.5hr dusk.

Post pics of the plug & sockets (at least the parts you didn't throw away).

Kind of weird that just dropping the plug into the water would stop it from working.
We can't help without pictures....

Just wondering out loud, when you said "Plug" did you mean the low voltage transformer that plugs in?
If so, unless it was under water for a couple hours, just drying it off should have worked. But since you cut it off and threw it away (now with no chance of the guys at Radio Shack to duplicate it) we wont know for sure!

If that is the case,it is just a transformer that reduces the 120 volts to probably 6 volts DC at 120ma.
But this is just a guess.

The important thing to remember is polarity from the output of the transformer to the moon lights since it is possible a DC voltage. If you hook it up and it doesn't work just switch polarity.
But.....I'm just guessing,send pictures!
