Nova in Canopy

I know it says not to put a Nova Extreme Pro 6x54 in a canopy but:
If it is mounted in the middle
If I cut holes where the fans are on the ends
What can it hurt
The back my canopy is open. I will have the holes cut providing the same ventilation as if it would be in the open.
Anyone done this or has this unit in a canopy. Let me know!

if your gonna put it in a canopy i would add like 2 computer fans to pull the air in to help it cool the fixture. i would still cut the slots out where the fans are on the nova, but i would also have the fans like one on each side would probly be best.

I placed my fixture 48" orbit t-5 hqi under a homemade hood and cut holes at all of the vent locations and have had no problems for over a year.
