Sorry if I missed it, but what brand did you use? I have used Blue Life Red Slime remover a couple of times with no ill effects whatsoever to fish or corals, it's not cheap but it works great.

I used the chemiclean before, but you gotta make sure that the top is off the tank and there's plenty of aeration for it.. can't overdose it either.. there is a prescribed amount on the box. if you dumped the whole thing in without measuring it.. eek....

Thats great news! In case you are ever in this area, there is a GREAT fish store in Salem NH. It is 99.9 percent saltwater and I would say 80% of that is coral. They have tanks and tanks of coral, every kind you can think of. It is prob a bit of a ways from you but incase you are ever traveling. Its called Jays Aquatics. Tanks were very nice, prices average, but alot of choice.

Ren... really sorry to hear about it, not good at all .
I am sure you will get it back in no time, just stick with it!

I have used Red slime remover in my 14G before and it worked great.... use the right amount and mix it in a cup of fresh water, then dumped in in the back chamber so none of the large-ish pieces would be floating around

ren im so sorry to hear about this. Im so afraid that something like this will happen that I dont even use carbon in my tank!
You are a great reefer with alot of knowledge. Dont give up, you can work through this. It wasnt your fault! Some jerk probably mixed the chemical wrong or something and then you added it, and it killed everything.
If I was closer Id give you some frags but shipping from FL is too expensive :(
Keep us updated. Just keep doing water changes every few days and siphon the cyano off the rocks and ground to manually remove it... and lots of flow (you know all this stuff!)
Good Luck
Jess
