Cute dog Broomer! My next dog is going to be something nice and neat and small like that. I've about had it with huge hairy shedding beasts that shake their head and send long drool strands everywhere. I love Great Danes, but gee whiz the spit thing is gross.

We kind of have a zoo also. Guinea pig, rabbit, 3 horses (Quarter Horses), 2 dogs: 1 Piebald miniature Dachsund (pic included), 1 English Setter ( my Quail hunting partner), reef tank of course and my daughter has a 6gal. Eclipse freshwater.

sorry no pics but i have 2 sw tanks, 4 fw tanks, 2 dogs, 1 cat, apond with 5 turtles, and 3 kids and a wife. lots of work around here, but i love every minute of it.

Well Broomer...if you want to go REALLY big, Great Danes are super family dogs and their sheer size and the volume of their bark makes them effective guardians. On the down side, they have a spit problem ( ) and are at very high risk for bone cancer. They also have typically short lives although many live into early teens. German Shepherds are hard to beat. Loyal, obedient, smart and they are excellent guardians. About the only downer is they shed...ALOT!

Hey broomer another option is a bullmastiff. I've been looking at this breed myself. You might want to check them out.

Here is my fire dog I take care of at work.
I have another Dal here at home and wife has a dachshund. Both outside animals as no fur allowed in house...heh.

This is an old, lousy picture of me with my 11 year old cat, Sarah...I have another cat now too...he's white with black markings...he'll be 1 year old next month.

My Danes are pretty good about the slobber. And the hair with them is not too bad. I just have to worry about their muddy fet when they come into the house. They are pretty cool when you take them both out together.
We have 4 dogs, 2 Great Danes, 1 Schiperkee, 1 Yorkie; a ball python, and 3 SW tanks. Oh ya and 4 boys. I guess they count too.
