it's really not the recipe that makes them soft, it's the cooking time. If you want them soft, take them out of the oven earlier than the directions call for. You can go to meals.com... they have a ton of recipes.
here's all the recipes they have for oatmeal cookies: http://www.meals.com/Recipes/RecipeSearchResults.aspx

Who gets tired of cookies?? Those ungrates!
Rice crispy treats are always a nice change.
I had bought a cookie sheet from our grocery store that has a double bottum. It's unexplainably awesome!! The bottum of cookies and biscuits are the same color as the top!! And all that you cook on it will be chewy!
Oh and for some reason, if you put your cookies in a tupperware container and seal them tight overnight, but not in the fridge, then the next day they are also chewy.
Look at me, I am acting like I know how to bake!! LOL.

good suggestion Tizzo. they are easy to make and once you pop'em you just can't stop. I think that might have to be the one to make. thanks again tizzo. For the future though keep the good one's coming even if they are harder to make.

I have those kind of sheets too and they are GREAT. I love those things. I think they just disapate the heat better.
Turn the temp down a bit and pull um out early! YUMMY!

You can find Mackinaw Island Fudge online for very reasonable prices and yes it is the best fudge around.....especially when it is fresh right on the island. Anyone that has never tried our historical fudge needs to find it online and order some up. The best is Peanut butter fudge. Chocolate is also the best. Here is a link to some of the best shoppes in Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island https://www.mackinawshopping.com/retail_shop/
Enjoy
