Obama Supporters Only Thread

Another thing I really like about him is how normal he is. He was raised by a single mother, and just got his student loans paid off a few years ago. He didn't marry into moola like his con opponent.

Ya, he's just one of us...
Let's actually quit the "spin" and tell the truth about Obama.
*He lived with his father then his stepfather until age 10, when he moved back to Hawaii to live with his mother's family. So let's cut the "single mom" crap.
*In Hawaii he attended a prestigious Private School
*Graduated from Columbia then Harvard
*Has had two book deals
You are correct, his wife is not rich. That said, they both has certainly benefited from their marriage. in 2005, after Obama became a Senator, her annual salary at the hospital was increased from $121,910 to $316,962 (I wonder if this has anything to do with his stance on Socializing healthcare?)

I think the way B Obama inspires people is really what we need now. He will make a great president. I don't think we need to worry so much about the swift boating the RNC will come up with. The commercials they ran in North Carolina (?) were so Slick Willy, no one will fall for that again. We were duped once, now the electorate really does want change.

Once again, what was untrue about the swifties? And what was untrue about the NC add? Facts have never stood in the libs way.

Don't forget to add in all the civilian deaths...there are those who feel everyone in the middle east with brown skin is a terrorist or future terrorist don't believe them. The lives of the civilians of Iraq are just as valuable as those of our soldiers and it's a shame there is a large percentage of Americans who'd disagree with this.

We didn't start either of the wars we are in right now....
Al Qaeda started the "War" on Terrorism.
Saddam started the Iraqi Conflict when he invaded Kuwait, was defeated, signed a Peace Agreement, then continually broke said agreement.
FWIW, Tehran is currently responsible for killing our military. If you want to blame someone point your finger east.

I read some of these posts trying to use the military guys as political tools and it makes me proud to support McCain. I'm going to be glad to know my son's commander and chief will be a man who understands what the guys really go through.

I didn't know you worked with him. If you did then I'll ask you. Does he EVER move his eyebrows?? That is really what I notice about him most. He doesn't raise or furrow his eyebrows. NOBODY does that. I can't even do that when I try!

I really like his wife, too. She is no Laura Bush, no Laura Petrie wannabe. She really is intelligent. They will make a great first couple.

i can tell you have no idea whats really going on. the civilians dont know what mission the soldiers are on, most cant really say anyway but i can tell you its not retaliation. not to mention when mccain was a pow in vietnam we didnt need to be there either. im not saying that we shouldnt have gone to iraq in the first place but now the soldiers are being police officers and detectives over there like the police here work. they're practically babysitting because lets face it why buy the cow when you get the milk for free. its now a civil war over there and i have actually talked to some civilians from baghdad and he said all it is, is foreigners telling people to change their very way of life. how would you feel?

Also, now that the Iraqi oilfields are up and running and pumping oil when are they going to start paying for the war? I had thought there were promises made from the begining by the Bush admin that Iraqi oil was to pay for the war, am I wrong?

I'm sorry, but many of us actually do know the mission our troops are on.
I'm not sure what scary neighborhood you live in, but the police around my neighborood never have to call in Air Support, dodge mortars and IEDs, or fight Al Qaeda on a daily basis.
Iraq is not a civil war. There is an uprising of factions of two factions, both Shiite, being supported by Tehran.
Iraqi security forces are taking casualties at 3 to 5 times what the Allied forces are taking. I'd hardly say they are being slackers.

Jmick, which way do you want it? Many from your side of the aisle said we went to Iraq for oil. Now you're saying we need to be taking their oil.... Obviously if we did start taking their oil your side would again start saying "see, we did it to steal their oil..."

No one has been FORCED into the military, every one of my friends and family( 6 people) who are in the marines are DYING to go to iraq, and the ones over there are loving it. They are moving from their current posts to be able to go fight over there.
I would advise people not to join the military if you are not wanting to be in a war........sounds logical

I have no problem with using their oil to help fund the war. Last I had heard, Iraq has over 30 billion in US banks, which I'd love to see used to rebuild their instructure.
