Your right, he was not in U.S Senate then.... what I should of said is that he expressed his thoughts of the Iraq War in 2002, which is way before any of the negatives associated with the war today and when we were looking for WMD's. He said this...
" I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaeda. I am not opposed to all wars. I'm opposed to dumb wars. You want a fight, President Bush? Let's finish the fight with Bin Laden and al-Qaeda, through effective, coordinated intelligence, and a shutting down of the financial networks that support terrorism, and a homeland security program that involves more than color-coded warnings."[124]

What year are we in? Does his race matter? If Cheney, a republican, can get the vice-president spot with a homosexual child he is close to, I think Race won't be an issue for the election. The only people it is an issue for, are those that ask or question what Race Obama is. Honestly...The guy could be purple with wings coming out of his head for all I care.

I agree with you... it shouldn't matter, but too many people it does. Just like many have probelms with a woman as a president.
I wonder what Cheney thought about Bush's views on gay marriage?

Obama's office began in the state as a Illinois state senator in 1997 through 2003 when he was elected to U.S sentate in 2004. He is a graduate from Columbia and Harvard Law. He seems to me to be just as qualified as any other candidate. I would say take a look at his achievements and you'll see that he has the credentials and the drive and the intelligence to be a presidential candidate.
He won't win cause Hillary has Bill and their is alot of people that would of gave Bill a 3rd term if they could so I think that your democrat.I think it has nothing to do with race.

After Obama is savaged by the Clinton machine and Democrat establishment it will be interesting to see if the "Black community" still votes 90% for the Democrat party.

I doubt Hillary will win... contrary to what the media would like you to believe, she is not in the majority's favor...

Never underestimate the ability of a politician to perfect the disasters their predicessors were trying to complete. If you think Bush is a loser you obviously weren't around for Jimmy Carter

Politics, race and, well everything else, aside...I don't think he has a chance due to his name. Obama sounds way too much like Usama/Osama for many poeple to be comfortable voting for him. Just plain old dumb luck that he has a similar name. If we were chasing Englebert Humperdink around the sand I don't think it would even come up, but many people will have a hard time looking past this simple similarity to see what the man behind the name is even like.

Obama is one of those guys who I disagree with politically but think he is a nice guy who's heart is in the right place. If he was to get elected I would have a hard time taking mean shots at him for messing up. The Hillarbeast on the other hand.....

You guys are right in saying that the color of ones skin should not affect our vote for candidates. Having said that, there is a GREAT majority of people who do not think as we do.

If the Republicans have enough sense (a question in of itself) to nominate Rudy Guiliani Hillary can't win. Too polarizing. I personally know several Democrats who will not vote for her period. Rudy's moderate social positions make him attractive to centrists and he will probably get votes from a few of those Dems who wont vote for Hillary. There are a lot of people who think 20 plus years of a Clinton or Bush in the White House is more than enough. Especially considering how close Bill Clinton has gotten to the Bushes.

I think you are right about Clinton taking the Dem primary unless she makes a huge slip up or someone exposes some nasty scandle she was involved in (a lot more likely)
There is no way in hell a Democrat can lose New York and still win the presidency. You would have to have Florida, PA and Ohio all go Democrat plus take a few swings states, not likely unless the Dem conceeded New York early on and didn't put a lot of time and money into the campaign there.
