Obsessive-Compulsive Gramma

My Royal Gramma has taken to filling the cavaties of a lettuce coral skeleton it has claimed as its home, with bits of algae and detritus from my liverock. I'd normally think this is some sort of nesting behavior except this is a lone specimen, and I haven't read of any similar behavior among the species.
Question is, does my Gramma have a hording disorder and more seriously should I empty its 'home' of its contents for fear of them decaying and polluting the tank? :notsure:
Any other odd fish behavior stories out there? ***)

Yeah, think so. One of those two buildings by Turtle Beach yeah? I live a little further removed from Waianae (and everything else for that matter), about 1/8 mile south of the famous surfing beach and a block mauka of Farrington Hwy.

Update: What I observed in my gramma was indeed nest-building behavior as described by Scott W. Michael in his book Basslets, Dottybacks & Hawkfishes. Apparently I have a male.
Too bad the males and females are indistinguishable, I'd get him a mate, then there'd be a little more protein for the community.

Yup, got woken up by the shaking Sun. morning. Wasn't very intense but could definitely tell it was a temblor. Thought it was kinda cool till the electricity went out. Eight hours later the power was on and no harm done except for my #@&* mag pump which wouldn't restart as usual (and for the last time). Luckily I'd already had my fill of the mag and mail ordered a Sequence Dart receiving it the day before. Next day I plumbed it in and everythings otay! :joy:

My gramma has done the same thing. I've had him for a while and he never di antyhing like that until recently though.....I stuffed a bunch of cheato behind some rocks and also bought a small frag xenia. The gramma moved from the left side of the tank over to the right and began sleeping in the hole behind the xenia. Everyday when I go home there are more and more strings of chaeto stuffed in the back of the hole. He's put alot of effort into his pad and is very prtoective of it. I'll try to get a pic of him tonight hanging out in his deluxe chaeto filled condo with the baby xenia balcony.
