Octopus HOB skimmer working correctly??

I think I am just about done setting up my 75 gallon tank. I am using an octopus hb-2000 skimmer, and it appears to be producing a lot of bubbles in the output into the tank. Is this normal.. or do I have something set up wrong?
Any advice appreciated, thanks!

I have an OctoBH100SS on my 54G....HAS always blown bubbles....I have tried everything, and when I checked with a so-called expert, I was told their pumps are so strong so this is normal

NOW....someone here told me you can take it apart, and break a couple of the impeller fan things off....I have not tried that...

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I will try and live with it for now, though all the bubbles gets pretty loud.
Thanks, finally seemed to find a good saltwater fish forum!

After looking at your pics, you have A LOT of bubbles......IDK about your model, but how do you adjust the air flow tube thing..
ALSO, how long has it been running? It may need some time to break in....
I am not too happy so far....I hate the bubbles, and I don't have near as much as you....I'm happy with the gunk that gets pulled out though....

I run a coral life 125 PS on a 65 gallon tank. I am working on a baffled tank to put behind the DT. I am going to put the discharge from the PS skimmer into the baffled tank which will be a couple inches higher than the DT so it can drain back into the DT. I also have to raise the PS so it will be high enough to drain into the buble trap tank. The bubbles I get from my PS drives me crazy - it works well but the bubbles are always there. I hope to get it running soon and I will try to post some pictures. I hope this makes sense and I was also thinking of putting some macro algea into it. It is going to be about 12gallons.

I have the Octopus BH300F and mine also produces small bubbles coming from the exhaust pipe. I have had mine for about 2 months and I am still tweeking the collection cup and surface skimmer to find the happy medium.

Can anyone else tell me if their outtake tube on this skimmer is really loose? I just put mine together and it literally just falls off when I stand the skimmer up straight. Will the water pressure hold it together once its in my tank?

the bubbles should subside once it breaks in. using any chemical such as stress coat will also cause skimmers to make lots of bubbles. in think in ur case, its just being a new setup.
