we got home around 12:30 on the 4th from a friends.
parked the truck ,walked into the laundry room which is pretty big maybe 10 by 14 and there was blood drops all over the place.
we figured the fireworks got the dogs all messed up and they got into a fight.
well we have 5 dogs they all came running up to us and in about 10 seconds my wife looked at me and i realized at the same time there was an extra dog in the house.
we have a doggie door and a wrought iron fence in the back. with an electric wire fence.
i guess the other dogs didnt like her being there.
she wasnt hurt too bad but looked like she got a couple good ones back to a couple of ours.very friendly dog looked like a brindle basset hound.
so we put her in the gararge and i went out back to see how she got in.
as soon as i got to the yard she ran around and slid under a section of fence ,dont know how or why she would go into a yard with 5 dogs.
she ran right up the wood deck stairs and back through the door.
so we put her in the gararge with both gararge doors 6 inches up and put food and water in there.
well the neighbor was still lighting fireworks and she was going nuts crying.
after the fireworks were done we went to sleep and in the morning she somehow took off hopefully back home.
we did find a electric fence dog collar in the back in the morning.
what an end to a long day

My old man Sammy goes nuts when there is a thunder storm. If it gets real bad, he is in my lap or between my wife and I in bed til it is over. Chance seems ok so far, still to early to tell.

i hope she got home ok.my wife walks our dogs and didnt reconise this one.
when we had our mastiff we had to put him in the bedroom with the radio on full blast till the fireworks were over.

If the dog got spooked by fireworks, they will do really strange things.
Two different years we have ended up with two different dogs in the house (we have a dog door as well). The dogs in the neighborhood know our Sarah and where she lives, so they do sometimes visit, I guess they saw our house as a safe haven.
Of course Sarah's not the fighting type. One year we found the two of them cuddled up together on her bed, another year we found them sitting at the bottom of the stairs waiting for a treat when we got home.
