GARBAGE. Im actually am waiting for it to burn down my house
. I'll start with the good-Its been running for 3-4 years, thats all that is good. The bad is first off while its on the trannys vibrate and all the crappy screws make noise. The fans in the hood only last for about 30 days, so I gutted the hood and turned it into a retrofit design. While gutting it, I got a good look at the wiring and it was quite scary. LOTS of brown burnt wires with loose connections. The PC ballasts died under a year, so I replaced them with coralife ballasts. I really should record this thing starting up! The startup noises are quite loud. Now it all could've changed but I have the dual MH/PC setup, and I also had a small oddesea PC for my fuge, neither lasted past 30 days.
Wow.

In the begining i purchased a lower brand name metal halide light. i would advise saving ur money and getting a good one. u get what u pay for in this particular area. i ended up purchasing an icecap ballast and new bulb for mine. im happy with the result, but in the long run i spent just as much money. also some models are not UL listed. if there is one thing i have learned, save ur money and get what u know is good and will make u happy. otherwise u will just end up unhappy with the product and looking to make another purchase. jmo.
Very good advise. It is tempting sense one odyssea is $500 and a different brand that says offers the same thing is at least $1000.

You get what you pay for. I have the 260w CF set up with the 4 moon lights. After a year the wires on the side that didnt have the fans were toast and brittle. Broke off in my hands. Went on the bay and ordered 2 new connections for it and then added 3 computer fans to it to cool it off on top of the two it already had. When I upgraded to the 125g I moved that light setup to my freshwater tank.
I had also bought a UV light from them as well and after a year the case wore through. No matter what I used I couldnt plug it up so its garbage. Want cheap then look for a DIY project or save the money for something better.
Also they are not UL approved or at least they werent when I bought it.
True that. I will have to look in to that. Might just try energy saver bulb one.
Thanks for all the help, my verdict. Block that site.
