Ok..I'm going to get a 100 gallon long aquarium. I'm going to add clownfish, chromis, inverts, coral, tangs, maybe an anemone or 2. I was wondering how many clownfish are suitable for a tank this size. Could i just add clownfish of the same species in pairs if i wanted to? I want maybe 4 or 6. Thanks

2 clownfish max or territoriality ensues and most are likely to end up killed. If you must have two and cannot purchase an already mated pair, then try and get a normal or large sized one and one that is considerably smaller, so that one establishes dominance and a pair will ( hopefully ) form.

i would buy one and let it grow for awhile befor buing another to go with it, perculas are pretty nice clowns though and dont always fight when being placed together, alot of times they get along right away enless they are both females

So buy one..then buy another later so you can be certain that one will have dominance(bigger one). Sounds good

You'll be fine if you buy 2 at the same time. just make sure one is a lot smaller then the other. The larger one will become the female if it isn't already. I've bought 2 at a time many times over the 10 yrs of keeping marine tanks without any problems.
