A quickie. A purple, black longnose, and sailfin tang along with a kole and convict tang in a 200g reef. Are the tang police going to be after me, or is this posible? Would three Zebrasomas of different species be possible, or should this be left in the dream realm only? Just researching now. thanks, tt.

From what I know, it can be very hard to get tangs from the same genus to live together peacefully. Zebrasomas in particular are the most aggressive of the tangs. I wouldnt recomend what you are proposing. Im not saying it cant be done, I just think it will be really hard. I have heard of zebrasomas living together, but most often it doesne work out. HTH

I thought so. I currently have the purple, convict and kole tangs along with a dawrf angel in my 135g. They all get along very well. I have heard of many aquarists who have two Zebrasomas, partiularily a yellow and purple in their set-ups with no problems. I think I might be fine with a black long nose, but adding a sailfin might be pushing it. Btw, i would be introducing them all at the same time.

i agree that there could be a problem with putting the same genus of tangs together. i have seen tanks before with 4-5 yellow tangs together but the fish were put in together and there probably is no guanentee that they won't fight. i was a cool setup with though. i you got small tangs to start it could work. just an opinion

When small they might be OK, but as they get large, I would think you could have some disputes. Thats alot of tangs for one tank, IMO.
