I live in TN and copperheads are very common here. You said you found him in the sump tray.... what kind of sump do you have? Sounds like you have a Tidepool like me.

If you all want to know a diogram of my sump then I need to know how to get a picture of paint onto a "post reply".

Click reply. Scroll down and click manage attachments. Click browse, find the pic and click upload. The pic must be a max of 500 x 500. You can scale it down in MS Paint by clicking on Image, then Stretch/Skew. Click Image then attributes when you are done to see if you got within 500 x 500.
There are many other free programs much better for photo-editing, like GIMP.
