I just did the same thing about 3months back because my maroon was female big and holding eggs. When I got the much smaller soon to be male she really beat him badly. .... I had made the mistake of having 2 anenomes so the small clown had some refuge but with a few days of wars the small clown became subserviant and followed the female around. They are now a mated pair in the same anenome....
Hope this helps
Is there a considerable size difference between them?
That may actually cause a problem because they are close to equal, I was told to buy a much smaller one so that he would submit quickly since there was no hope of him winning the war. Let me know what happens
