thats their food! its called a LAWN MOWER blenny they MOW down the LAWN, the LAWN is the hair algae. they have been named for this. i had a smaller one about a year ago it would let hair algae blooms happen.
So? Think about it. Would you rather pick hair algae off rocks, or be fed good stuff (for fish at least) from the sky? Cleaner shrimp often do the same, no longer clean/scavenge and instead just eat during feedings.
Though this goes back to my own thing against relying on CUC/fish to maintain tanks...
