thats their food! its called a LAWN MOWER blenny they MOW down the LAWN, the LAWN is the hair algae. they have been named for this. i had a smaller one about a year ago it would let hair algae blooms happen.

i did a 35% water change last night. all parameters are fine.

So? Think about it. Would you rather pick hair algae off rocks, or be fed good stuff (for fish at least) from the sky? Cleaner shrimp often do the same, no longer clean/scavenge and instead just eat during feedings.
Though this goes back to my own thing against relying on CUC/fish to maintain tanks...

So? Think about it. Would you rather pick hair algae off rocks, or be fed good stuff (for fish at least) from the sky? Cleaner shrimp often do the same, no longer clean/scavenge and instead just eat during feedings.

it never ate any food that floated by him. thats why i called it dumb. my cleaner shrimp do a great job keeping my tank clean and they did their job by cleaning up the dead fish. if i was that fish i would have eaten the hair algae to stay alive. even my perculas eat the hair algae off the rocks. i see them poop hair algae all the time.

those r some freakin awesome clowns if they eat algae by the way that 5inch wont harm ur tank u have 2 cleaners on him? it will be bones in a day

ive had 2 angels die on me the same day, stupid petstore guy what a moron o yea 2 angels will get along an me being a nub at the time was like great! but 5 hermits did the job bones in 2 days no spike
